2024 Festival of Stories

The Island Story Gatherers Inc hosted the Festival of Stories in 2024 from 2-4 August at Berninneit, Cowes Cultural Centre, Phillip Island. The lineup was better than ever, with the likes of Robyn Davidson, Sue Maslin, Alan Pentland, Patrick Coleridge, Margaret Simons, and more.

2023 Festival of Stories

The Festival of Stories returned in 2023, with a special event held on 18 November at Berninneit, the new Cowes Cultural Centre. Attendees heard from Daniel Church, Aunty Fay Stewart-Muir, Lorin Clarke, and more.

2019 Festival of Stories

The Island Story Gatherers Inc hosted the Festival from the 26, 27, 28 July at the Cowes Cultural Centre, Phillip Island. Featuring Uncle Jack Charles, Uncle Shane Clarke, author Tom Keneally, author Meg Keneally, comedian Denise Scott and more fabulous storytellers!

2018 Literary Festival

The 2018 Festival was a great success! Our Festival theme was stories of survival. Presenters were selected in accordance with the nominated themes of dispossession, racism, true local history, mental health, and the ability to overcome all odds. Speakers included Adam Briggs, Professor Tim Flannery, Tammy Anderson, Hane Caro and more!

2017 Literary Festival

The inaugural Literary Festival of Phillip Island 2017 featured keynote speakers Andrew Denton, Nova Peris OAM, Kutcha Edwards and Bryan Dawe.
